Basement Floor Epoxy Designed for Michigan Homes

Moisture-resistant basement epoxy floors built for Michigan homes. Professional prep, clean installs, and finishes that last.

A Beautiful, Clean, Durable, Basement Floor Upgrade

Our Industrial Floor Coating Systems are Built for Michigan Basements

Michigan basements deal with moisture, temperature swings, and daily wear. A properly installed epoxy floor gives you a sealed, easy-clean surface that looks sharp and holds up for years.

  • Moisture-resistant surface (great for humid basements)

  • Stain & chemical resistance (oil, paint, salt, cleaners)

  • Brighter, cleaner look (reflects light vs bare concrete)

  • Easy maintenance (sweep + mop)

We don’t skip prep — professional grinding and repairs are what prevent peeling and failures.

Whether your basement is used for storage, a home gym, or a finished living space, epoxy flooring gives you durability without sacrificing appearance.

Our Platinum Metallic Epoxy Process — Built to Last

  1. Full Mechanical Grinding
We grind the concrete or remove any previous coatings to expose a clean, solid surface.

  2. Industrial Vacuum Cleaning
The floor is vacuumed using a high-powered, 3-motor industrial vacuum to remove all dust and debris.

  3. Shot Blasting for Maximum Adhesion
We shot blast the concrete to achieve the proper surface profile and eliminate remaining dust — a critical step many installers skip.

  4. Crack & Surface Repair
Cracks and imperfections are repaired using V-8 Fast Patch and/or V-8 High Impact patching compounds.

  5. Trowel Coat for Deep Damage & Air Bubble Prevention
A trowel coat using High Performance 6.0 Epoxy or MVB is applied to fill deep pitting and damaged concrete.
Any remaining low spots are patched again to ensure a smooth, sealed surface and reduce air bubbles.

  6. Pigmented Epoxy Base Coat
A pigmented base coat using V-8 High Performance 6.0 Epoxy is applied and allowed to properly cure.

  7. Platinum Metallic Design Coat
The metallic epoxy design layer is applied in your chosen colors to create a seamless, high-end finish.

  8. Protective Urethane Topcoat (Free Upgrade)
We finish with a V-8 Magnum urethane topcoat to protect the metallic design layer from wear, staining, and scratches.
Satin sheen is recommended for the best balance of appearance and durability.

Why This Matters for Your Basement

  • Better adhesion
  • Longer Lifespan
  • Reduced risk of bubbling or delamination
  • A metallic finish that stays protected and looks better over time.

⚠️ What Most Installers Do Instead

  • Minimal prep or light sanding
  • No shot blasting or moisture-aware prep
  • Thin polyurea or polyaspartic coating that won’t flow well
  • No protective topcoat
  • Higher risk of bubbling, peeling, and premature wear

Metallic epoxy floors without proper prep and a protective topcoat are far more likely to fail. It’s not if, but when.

FAQ About Basement Floor Coatings

Technically, you can. Basement floor paint will need to be repainted yearly, is not scratch resistant, and does not hold up well around any moisture. We can’t stress enough on how bad it is to using paint for the basement floor. Even enamels designed for floors will not last. Epoxy basement floors are more cost effective in the long run and much less headache.

Epoxy floors can last for a lifetime, providing long-term durability and performance on a basement floor. They are also easy to refresh with sanding and a quick top coat after years of constant abuse. It will take a very long time before even having to worry about it.
